Advisory Board

John L. Kelly – Senior Advisor

John Kelly is currently the Chief Operating Officer of Liquidnet. From September 2003 to March 2009, Mr. Kelly worked with John L. Thornton, former President of Goldman Sachs. At JL Thornton, Mr. Kelly provided advisory services to private investors and management in a variety of industries in the United States and China, including emerging private enterprises (SMEs) and State Owned Enterprises (SOEs), and completed several small direct investments in privately held companies in the U.S. Mr. Kelly served in several senior positions with Société Générale (“SG”) in the U.S. including Head of Capital Markets, Chief Operating Officer of the U.S. investment banking business (SG Cowen), and Head of Portfolio Management for SG Americas. As COO of SG Cowen, he oversaw capital markets and execution activities in the fixed income and equity divisions, bond brokerage, correspondent clearing, asset management, and private client services. He was also responsible for all administrative functions including finance, IT, operations, internal audit, legal and compliance, human resources, and facilities. As Head of Portfolio Management, he managed the allocation of the bank’s equity capital to the various business lines to maximize the return on equity of the $23 billion SG Americas credit portfolio. Mr. Kelly was a member of the Management Committee of SG Americas, a 9 member group that oversaw all of SG’s universal banking activities in the region comprising a $50 billion balance sheet and 3,500 employees. He was a member of SG Cowen’s Executive Committee, Investment Banking Committee, the Equity Screening Committee and he was chairman of the Debt Screening Committee, the Risk Committee, the New Products Committee and the Control and Compliance Committee. He was also a member of SG’s Regional Risk Committee and the Regional Control and Compliance Committee. Previously, Mr. Kelly worked at Rockefeller Family & Associates where he managed private equity investments; had been Head of Asian Fixed Income Capital Markets at Bear Stearns; worked for The First Boston Corporation (now Credit Suisse) where he was a founding member of the Capital Markets Group and served in the investment banking group covering technology and health care companies; and was a commercial lending officer at Citibank serving retail and wholesale trade customers.

Mr. Kelly currently serves on the board of The Victory Funds, a $13 billion mutual fund complex, where he has chaired the Investment Committee and is currently a member of the Audit and Risk Oversight Committee, and is a director of AmeriCares, a humanitarian aid and disaster relief organization, where he is Chairman of the Audit Committee. Mr. Kelly has a BA in American Studies (history and literature) from Yale University and an MBA from the Yale School of Management.

Dr. Marisa Randazzo - Senior Advisor

Dr. Randazzo is a Managing Partner of SIGMA Threat Management Associates and an international expert on threat assessment, targeted violence, and violence prevention. Before joining the private sector, Dr. Randazzo served for ten years with the U.S. Secret Service, most recently as the agency's Chief Research Psychologist. Among her various responsibilities, she co-directed the Safe School Initiative, the landmark federal study of school shootings that was conducted jointly by the U.S. Secret Service and U.S. Department of Education. Dr. Randazzo is an accomplished presenter and instructor on threat assessment investigations, having trained over 10,000 professionals in law enforcement, management, administration, mental health, and the intelligence community throughout the United States, Canada, and the European Union. Her research is used in the federal, state, and local law enforcement communities and has been credited in the media with preventing planned attacks. Dr. Randazzo has testified before Congress and has been interviewed by major television, radio, and print news outlets, including 60 Minutes, the Today Show, the Early Show, 48 Hours, Dateline NBC, MSNBC, the New York Times, and National Public Radio. She has also published under her maiden name, Marisa Reddy. Dr. Randazzo received her Ph.D. and Master's degree from Princeton University in Social Psychology, and a B.A. in Psychology and Religion from Williams College. In 2005, Dr. Randazzo was awarded the Williams College Bicentennial Medal for her work in preventing violence. She is listed in several Who's Who publications for her threat assessment research and training contributions.

Mr. Frank Savage – Senior Advisor

Frank Savage has been Chief Executive Officer of Savage Holdings LLC (a global financial services company focusing on private equity and investment advisory services) since August 2001 and serves as its Chairman. He is a Director of Arab Bankers Association of North America. Mr. Savage served as Senior Vice President of The Equitable Life Assurance Society of the United States (financial services) from 1987 to 1996. From December 1970 to July 1985, he held various positions with Equitable Life, including investment officer and Vice President. He has been Chairman of the Board of Alliance Corporate Finance Group, Inc. since 1993. He served as Chairman of Alliance Capital Management International, a division of Alliance Capital, from May 1994 until July 31, 2001. He served as the Chairman of the Board of Equitable Capital Management Corp. (which was merged into Alliance Capital Management Corporation) from 1992 to July 1993, Vice Chairman of the Board and Head of International Operations, Equitable Capital Management Corp. from 1986 to 1992 and from June 1986 to April 1992, respectively. He serves as Director of Southern Africa Fund. He has been Director of Alliance Capital Management Corporation the General Partner of Alliance Capital Management Holding LP since May 1993. He was a Director of Lockheed Martin Corp. from 1995 thru 2010 and QUALCOMM Spinco Inc. since July 2000. He is a Director of the Institute of International Education and the New York Philharmonic. He served as Director of Enron Corp., from 1999 to 2002. He served as a Director of Qualcomm Inc. (a holding company of QUALCOMM Spinco Inc.) from February 1996 to May 2004. Previously, he served as Director of Lockheed Martin Corp., from 1990 to 1995. He served as a Director of ARCO Chemical Company since July 22, 1993. He is a former U.S. Presidential appointee to the Board of Directors of U.S. Synthetic Fuels Corporation. He serves as the Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Trustees of Howard University. He received a B.A. Degree from Howard University in 1962, an M.A. Degree from The Johns Hopkins University Nitze School of Advanced International Studies in 1968 and an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Humane Letters from Hofstra University.
