Example scenarios:

Tornado shooterThe Storm Prediction Center issues a severe thunderstorm watch for portions of your State, which includes your county. Heavy rains have been falling for three hours. The storm system is moving towards your (facility/school/office) and tornadoes have been reported. Evaluate your organizations ability to respond to a tornado. Applicable for educational institutions, manufacturing, transportation, energy and supply chain among others.
Hurricaneshooter A tropical storm is developing the Atlantic and is upgraded to a hurricane after a period of time. The hurricane has steadied at dangerous Category 4. It's reported that the hurricane will reach its peak as predicted and start to make an impact with a direct hit on your city/town and the coastal area surrounding. The following day the hurricane moves out. The rain associated with the storm has caused rivers to overflow their banks, and several rivers systems are experiencing record flood levels. Applicable for most sectors.
PandemicshooterIt's Sunday night and the Governor declares a state of emergency, evokes travel restrictions and encourages the Department of Public Health to exercise quarantine laws, school closure, and restrict assembly of crowds. Test conducted by the CDC confirm a traveler returning from China has the pandemic flu. Other states are now reporting cases. Europe and Asia are also being affected. WHO elevates pandemic situation. Is your organization ready for this and what type of impact will the unfolding scenario have on the business? Applicable for all sectors.
HAZMAT RailshooterA freight train pulling 42 cars, hauling everything from fiberboard to hazardous materials, has entered the city limits and is moving at 20 miles per hour towards a crossing. The train collides with an SUV filled with passengers. As your office overlooks the crossing point several of your employees experience the incident and screams are heard from the SUV. They watch, as several cars of the train begin to derail and the automobile is pushed down the tracks. Is your facility or office next to or close to a rail line? Test your team is their response to this event. This scenario is applicable to HAZMAT teams and organizations that have assets located near a rail line.
HAZMAT TruckshooterA tractor trailer with toxic chemicals is involved in a single vehicle accident on XXX Road just outside your headquarters running into an electrical transformer negatively affecting local power distribution. This truck is transporting anhydrous ammonia.  The tanker of the tractor trailer has been ruptured and the contents are now leaking into the surrounding environment.  The Local Fire and Rescue Hazmat response team arrived on the scene to make initial evaluations of the extent of the damage. Due to the location of the accident, the initial fear is this is a result of an act of terrorism. As the business and crisis management leader what are you starting to think about?
Active ShootershooterWhile on your way back from lunch you hear load screams and gun fire coming from your office/school  building. Employees/students are fleeing the building and some of them are covered in blood and look like they are in shock. Do your employees/administrators and incident management team know what to do and how to react if one or more gunmen start firing in your office, school, facility or hotel? Test your organizations ability to respond to an active shooter situation. This scenario could happen in almost any environment and often happens without obvious warning. Applicable to every sector including the military.
Kidnap & RansomshooterThe traveling executive/student who was supposed to make a scheduled daily call has not. Attempts are made to call her mobile phone but to no avail. Calls to her hotel lead nowhere.  Where is she and what do we do now? This scenario will allow teams to work through the process of tracking down a missing or kidnapped employee. Applicable to NGO's, Military, Universities and any corporation that has traveling executives.

Political UnrestshooterYou have several members of staff in a foreign country where a new and prosperous project is about to start. In the middle of the night an uprising from a opposite faction of the local government overtakes the capital where you staff are located. There is fighting in the streets and looting of stores, restaurants and hotels. All public transportation has come to a standstill and the airport has been taken over by the rebels. Communications are good but then start to deteriorate. What now? Test your response procedures and ability to handle this crisis. Applicable for NGO's, Military and any other organization that has traveling employees to potentially hostile environments.
