Security Services

Our security consulting practice covers these four core competencies:
Risk Assessment, Plan Development, Implementation and Evaluation.

Risk AssessmentBlue Water’s Security Assessment is a complete physical inspection and analysis of a facility or location. The security assessment process helps uncover any physical and procedural security flaws including security systems and equipment. Blue Waters security assessment is a process that:

  • Identifies the vulnerabilities and weaknesses in physical structures, personnel protection systems, procedures or other areas that may lead to a security breach.
  • Recommends possible security counter-measures that may be employed to reduce or mitigate those weaknesses.

Plan DevelopmentThe importance of protecting assets can't be understated especially in today volatile and unpredictable world. Investment in security has both its value and in many cases can yield a return on the investment. An organization that may be subject to internal and external threats such as theft, sabotage, economic and industrial espionage and even terrorism should have a security plan in place.

What is a security plan?

The Security Plan is designed to implement policies and procedures that will protect an organizations personnel, material assets and intellectual property, and which will insure a safe business environment for clients and company personnel. A Security Plan also known as a Security Program is designed to assist the company in establishing minimum standards for the installation and operation of all security devices, and to implement procedures to both discourage crimes and to assist in the identification of individuals who commit such acts.
ImplementationBlue Water supports its clients with the implementation of there plans. We work closely with teams to ensure everyone fully understands the procedures and is ready to implement them at a moments notice.
Evaluation (Exercises and Drills)Blue Waters Security and Emergency Plan Exercises test the proficiency of an organization's ability to respond to all types of emergencies. Integral to that is the practicing and testing of all the elements of an organizations security and emergency plans.

Blue Waters exercise design assists in the simulation of a security or emergency situation and has three main purposes:

  1. Validate plans (validation).
  2. Develop employee competencies and give them practice in carrying out their roles in the plans (training).
  3. Test well-established or new procedures (testing).

The type of exercise is dependent on the environment and objectives. Exercises may be full-scale or live, tabletop simulation or seminar or a combination and may be combined with other appropriate exercises i.e. Federal, regional or local security or emergency response and preparedness exercises. At a minimum an exercise should test communication and notification procedures and coordination, resource availability and response. These are all key components of an emergency and security plan.
The Blue Water team works with its clients to identify their security exercise objectives. Once the objectives are identified our team then designs, facilitates and delivers the exercise to the highest professional standard ensuring all exercise participants, observers and the client receive a first class service.

Security & Emergency DrillsThe objective of a security drill is to ensure that both security and non security personnel are proficient in responding to an emergency or security situation. Drills are a smaller version of an exercise and help identify any security related deficiencies in portions of the security plan, which need to be addressed.

Blue Waters security drill service assists in the design, execution and post drill recommendation process. We can observe and make recommendations or we can design and deliver a drill depending on your needs.
AuditsQ. Who should be the first to be aware of weaknesses in your organizations security system?

  • The Government
  • The Public
  • The Thief
  • The Terrorist

A. None of the above – it should be the organization!
When audits fail or uncover non-conformities, it is vital that the organization acts upon those failures or non-conformities without delay. Failing to make those recommended changes could cost the organization more in the long run. To maximize the return on the investment in a security plan or program an annual security audit should be conducted.

Blue Water security auditors have vast experience with auditing security plans, policies and procedures to ensure your investment in security and emergency management remains strong.
