Travel Security Awareness

In this weakened global economy, criminal activities such as kidnap for ransom, economic and industrial espionage and organized crime are all increasing. To help reduce these risks, Blue Water Partners Global has developed a travel security awareness course which provides business travelers with the fundamental security basics for traveling to a foreign country. Situational awareness Within this subject, we provide a number of situations that one may encounter while traveling and how to respond in order to achieve the safest resolution.

Communications Don’t leave home without having a communications plan as it may cost you your life. In this subject, we discuss how to develop a basic communications plan in order to best stay connected to your company, family and the world.
Mobile data protection In this subject Mr. Don Ulsch, the President and Chief Risk Analyst at ZeroPoint Risk Research, discusses economic and industrial espionage and the reasons why our corporate and personal data is under attack. Also Mr. Tom Chiginsky, the CIO of Blue Water Partners Global, provides some very practical examples of how to protect this data while traveling.

Our experts:
Rob Burton, the Director of Security Services and Training for Blue Water Partners Global, leads the instruction for this course. Rob was recently chosen by the U.S. State Department’s Anti-Terrorism Assistance Program to educate foreign government officials on maritime security management. In Afghanistan, Rob negotiated with senior United Nations officials and Pashtun tribal warlords and provided covert reconnaissance, close protection and advisory counsel to businessmen and political officers assisting in reconstruction projects. As a former military special forces soldier, Rob specialized in all facets of antiterrorism and covert surveillance. Rob’s work within the military led to him being awarded the Q.C.B. (Queens Commendation for Bravery) which was presented by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Don Ulsch is the President and Chief Risk Analyst at ZeroPoint Risk Research, LLC. Based in greater Boston, he advises clients on counter-economic espionage and risk-based privacy. He is the author of Threat! Managing Risk in a Hostile World.  Previously, he served on the US Secrecy Commission and worked at the National Security Institute, a defense think tank. Don advised the office of counterintelligence for a US President and worked with US Senator Sam Nunn on information security policy. Previously, he served in executive risk positions at Gartner, Inc., PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Jefferson Wells International. He has been quoted in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and appeared on ABC News and other media outlets.

Thomas Chiginsky is a internationally recognized expert in internet computing, content development,  content management delivery and collaboration.   He is a the Chief Information Officer at Blue Water Partners Global. Tom has been one of a small group of experts who advise the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, Austria on developing their next generation information analysis and dissemination systems.  He has facilitated and advised an international team on increasing collaboration and reducing the friction of information dissemination to decision makers and agencies. He has participated in international exercises focused on turning global data into knowledge.  He has been a featured speaker and presenter giving high level presentations regarding global collaboration and efficient content delivery.   Prior to entering the security field in 2002 Tom was a technology consultant the US and Europe to online retail and publishing concerns focusing on setting the standards for global collaboration, content delivery and digital workflows.  Tom attended Boston University where he completed a self directed course of study with a major in Architecture and Environmental Design.
